About
The Project
Maggie’s Dreamcatcher Dharamsala Hospital Project Inc. (MDDHPI) has been formed for the sole purpose of assisting with the building and funding of a hospital in India in Dharamsala and to aid with the supply of volunteer doctors MDDHPI has teamed up with another charity called Red Lotus.

The hospital is called Gyuto Tantric University Hospital and was founded by Dr Hedda and Dr Claus Blumenroth with the support of H.H.Karmapa and H.H. Dalai Lama. Hedda and Claus have retired from their medical careers in Germany and as well as having donated all their medical equipment, they have invested just over $100,000 of their own money.
Our Mission
1. To secure qualified medical care for the people of Himachal Pradesh in Northern India by funding the building of a hospital and supplying volunteer staff of the highest standard.
2. To reduce the suffering caused by untreated diseases, serious illness and infection as a result of malnutrition and insufficient hygiene.
3. To extend our backyard a little further than our fence line.
Who is it for?
The hospital is not only for Tibetans; it is for Hindus, Muslims, homeless people and anybody else in need. Originally the hospital was planned to be set up in Tibet but due to the Chinese bureaucracy this was too difficult. MDDHPI is looking to invite people to participate, volunteering their help and working at the hospital. Volunteers will be able to enjoy a working holiday in the region of Dharamsala.
The hospital is located in a clean, quiet and beautiful part of Dharamsala surrounded by mountains. MDDHIP along with Red Lotus hopes to honor all donors by adding their name, surname, country and donations to a plaque at the hospital.
MDDHPI and Red Lotus combined hope to raise close to $1 Million dollars before the Monsoon season, as the equipment is very sensitive and needs to be properly stored during the rainy season to ensure it is not damaged.

How you can help?
Those in more fortunate countries can offer a great deal to this project by not only supplying donations to assist with the construction of the hospital but in supplying doctors and other medical staff. The volunteers will have the benefit of contributing to a much needed cause in the area and secondly experience first hand the many diseases and illnesses that we are so fortunate to rarely if ever see in first world countries.
Please help us achieve this goal by donating money here towards this great cause or by buying Who is George? a colourful children’s book written for the purpose of raising funds towards the charity.
